Pumpkin, Butternut

Butternut pumpkins have a sweet, nutty taste with a yellow skin and orange fleshy pulp and are sweeter to taste than other pumpkin varieties. One of the best pumpkins to roast, they can also be boiled or mashed and of course we can’t forget pumpkin scones. We use three suppliers for our Butternut pumpkins Bruce Raabe from Mt Tyson near Toowoomba, Black Crow Organics and Bauers Organic Farm both from the Lockyer Valley. Season is from August to March.
